Designed Objects Tasmania (DOT) is one of Australia’s longest running design collectives that include designers, makers and craftspeople from around the state.

It has supported Tasmanian designers since 1986 and provides studio space, workshop facilities, networking, exhibitions and professional development opportunities for practicing designers.

This year DOT will present an exhibition at Arts Tasmania’s 146 ArtSpace called PROTOTYPE.  Prototypes are an early sample or model built by a designer to test a design idea or concept and are often used to refine manufacturing techniques.

The PROTOTYPE exhibition will showcase a range of new work or prototypes by Tasmanian designers who have partnered with local manufacturers to develop and produce new furniture and lighting designs.

This exhibition is a fantastic opportunity to gain a first-look at some wonderful new objects by some of Tasmania’s leading designers.
