Pat Brassington Monograph
Pat Brassington: This is not a photograph is the third in a series of monographs focusing on the work of prominent Tasmanian artists. It is a 64-page full-colour book celebrating the distinctive work of internationally-renowned Tasmanian photomedia artist Pat Brassington.
Pat Brassington is one of Australia's leading photomedia artists. She has exhibited widely both in Australia and overseas for the past 20 years, including as a feature artist at the 2004 Biennale of Sydney.
Her work is held in numerous private collections including the National Gallery of Australia, the Art Gallery of New South Wales, the Queensland Art Gallery, the National Gallery of Victoria, Artbank and the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery.
The monograph series profiles Tasmanian artists in quality publications that are suitable for reference for use in secondary education, and for purchase by the general public.
Pat Brassington was selected by the Tasmanian Arts Advisory Board from several thousand practising artists.
Pat Brassington: This is not a photograph, with text by Professor Dr Anne Marsh, designed by Tasmanian graphic artist Lynda Warner and published by Quintus Publishing, shows Pat's remarkable gift of portraying the surreal and corporeal qualities of the human condition.
