General eligibility

Who can apply?

Arts Tasmania accepts applications from individuals, groups and organisations.

Individuals and groups

If you are applying as an individual, you must be a practicing artist or arts worker who has been resident in Tasmania for six of the past twelve months.

Groups must have at least one Tasmanian member.

Students are eligible to apply for grants. However, any activity that is part of a course or contributes to course assessment is not eligible for funding.

If you have received a grant from Arts Tasmania in the past and that grant has not been acquitted, you will not be eligible to apply to Arts Tasmania until your acquittal is accepted.

Organisations

Organisations must be registered under law (an incorporated association, or a company limited by guarantee) or created by law (a government statutory authority). 

Organisations that are not based in Tasmania may apply for projects that benefit Tasmanian artists or audiences.

If you or your organisation has received a grant from Arts Tasmania in the past and that grant has not been acquitted, you will not be eligible to apply to Arts Tasmania until your acquittal is accepted.

Arts

Arts Tasmania supports activities that are artist-led.

Arts Tasmania supports museums, galleries and collections to deliver a range of activities that strengthen Tasmania's cultural heritage sector.
