This program supports:

  • Tasmanian individuals and groups to travel for arts or cultural heritage opportunities. Travel can be within:
    • Tasmania (intrastate);
    • Australia (interstate); or
    • overseas (international)

and

  • Tasmanian individuals, groups and organisations to bring professionals to Tasmania for arts or cultural heritage activities (including professional development opportunities or workshops).

    As the applicant, you must be:

    • an individual artist who has lived in Tasmania for six of the last 12 months
    • a member of a group of artists, with one member who has lived in Tasmania for six of the last 12 months
    • an arts organisation based in Tasmania
    • a cultural heritage organisation based in Tasmania.

    You must also meet our general eligibility requirements.

    What can I apply for?

    Individuals and groups can apply for funds towards:

    • travel in Tasmania, Australia or overseas for arts or cultural heritage activities
    • bringing professionals to Tasmania to deliver arts or cultural heritage activities.

    Organisations can apply for funds towards:

    • bringing professionals to Tasmania to deliver arts or cultural heritage activities.

    Grant funds cannot be used for equipment purchases.

    How much can I apply for?

    If your activity only involves travelling in Tasmania (intrastate), you can apply for:

    Activities in Tasmania must include one overnight stay outside your Local Government area.

    Applications will be assessed by a multi-artform panel using the criteria of:

    • Is the activity conceptually strong?
    • Why is the activity important?
    • Are the people involved experienced, or show the potential to develop and grow?
    Planning
    • Is the activity financially feasible?
    • Is the timeline reasonable and achievable?
    • What partnerships are in place to help the activity?
    Benefit
    • How does the proposed activity benefit the applicant, the artist, or the community?
    • What is the audience experience?
